When it comes to showcasing underground, underrepresented and rising acts in the city, there is one event company to look to: Heads Know. Based in Brooklyn, New York- the party platform is breaking heavy-hitting acts from the underground with publicist, indie writer, and DJ ArielleNYC at the helm.
Specializing in Jersey Club, a bass-heavy hybrid of hip-hop and electronic dance music originally born out of the Garden State’s DIY party underground in Newark, DJ Sliink has swiftly become a titan of the subgenre. As Jersey club exploded on a global scale in 2014, he served as the genre’s ambassador. Sliink continues to push the genre forward, blending it with unique sounds and influences to keep things fresh.
Miley Serious is the trendsetting DJ and founder of 99CTS RECORDS, seamlessly blending the electronic and punk scenes between Paris and New York City. With residencies in iconic clubs such as REX in Paris or Killekill in Berlin, her influence on the electronic scene cannot be underestimated, bringing her all around the world for sets.
JEWELSSEA feels like one of the freshest artists to rise up fast through Philly in the last five years. Growing up in South Philly, she’s now a regular DJ in the local rave culture- incorporating techno, hyperpop, house, and hip-hop touches with earthy strings and deep bass- always club-ready but often taking unexpected turns.
