Pineapple Records

Pineapple Records has a simple and striking philosophy: putting people onto fresh and funky dance music from all around the world.

Sam Binga’s label is home to heavy-hitters like Nikki Nair, Bianca Oblivion and Sir Hiss- just a handful of names from a roster of artists who exonerate this chameleonic stance, morphing sounds as disparate as baile funk and Baltimore.

“Your goal should be to create a world that people want to visit. It’s never just about the music you create; it’s the narrative around it, the sense of it all being part of some bigger vision.”

- Sam Binga, Notion

Binga has become known for his fearless style, blending juke and jungle with classic crunk and dancehall.  After his work in the breakbeat scene under the alias Baobinga, the Hull-born polymath started releasing on prestigious record labels like Critical and Exit, bringing a completely different vibe to the table. His cascading eclecticism saw Chicago footwork collaborations with Addison Groove and wonky half-time link ups with Om Unit, both of whom reside in Bristol.

Bianca Oblivion is a connector of the global club underground, drawing lines between U.S. & U.K. bass music, baile funk, reggaeton, grime, vogue and beyond. She has long been involved in multiple facets of the L.A. underground, continuously working to create spaces for femme/non-binary, queer, and POC artists in the Los Angeles nightlife scene as part of crews like Culosangeles, Club Aerobics and now Warp Mode.

The Kansas City-born, New York-based DJ, producer and UN/TUCK collective co-founder - Sister Zo’s sound is characterised by its FWD genre fusions; she stitches strands UK funky, garage, techno and dubstep together with a colourful creative thread – it’s hard to imagine hearing these tracks on a big soundsystem and not instantly needing to dance.
